Buying your own airline ticket.

Some groups purchase their tickets through a travel agent as a group, and in that case, you’ll not need to worry about buying an airline ticket. However, some groups are set up so that each person is responsible for buying their own ticket.
You may be more comfortable working with a travel agent to procure your ticket. However, if you’d like to buy your ticket online, there are a few options available to you.
Buy from the airlines: You can purchase your tickets from the actual airlines (American, Delta, Northwest, United). You might want to find a price from another site and then check it against the airline’s own prices. Sometimes they can beat the other prices.
Online sellers: There are many web sites that sell airline tickets. Here are a few.
- Travelocity
- Expedia
- Priceline
- TravelZoo (This site acts as a massive search tool of all the other sites…very handy.)
- Orbitz
- CheapTickets
- HotWire
- Vayama
- ATI Flights
- Cheapo Air
- Cheap Air
- Airfare
Tips: Here are a few web pages that offer tips on purchasing airline tickets online.

- Farecast: a web site that claims to help you by predicting when air fares will be best.
- FareCompare
- Is it a myth that better deals are available on Wednesdays?
